2011 SE Tunnel Protector Adjustments
By MrSled
This is what I have done with great success to
prevent the studs from hitting the exhaust do to the week tunnel
reinforcement brackets. In stock form the brackets that support the tunnel
protectors will flex 1/4 to 3/8 with force from the track hitting the
protectors at high speeds.
The Rear Bracket is unchanged but for reference sake the dim from the top of the tube to the tunnel is 1.625"
The 1st photo is the track pattern down the middle with Extreme Max 1.40
studs that stick past the track at a tad more then 1/4". Overall stud length
is 1.690.
The next 2 photos are of the middle bracket with added 1/8 strip and up turn leg to prevent the protector from moving. The dimension from top side of that tube to the tunnel is 1.25"
The next 3 photos are of the front bracket and bracket stop strip. I added
1/8" strip to lower the tube and a 1/8" Alum to the top of the tube near the
front exchanger to allow the tube to bare down on the tunnel. I also had to
cut the tips of the protectors off to allow the track tips to slip by. The
dimension from the top side of the tube to the tunnel at this point is
1.25".
This photo shows the clearance after the change at that point. Dimension is
1.0625"
