Chain case removal & gear install .. continued

13.  This is a 36mm tool

14.  Here's the tool on the 36mm nut. I just added a 1/2'' extension along with a ratchet and the nut came off somewhat easy. I'm sure a large adjustable wrench would work. Take note on the washer that is behind the nut for it is cupped

15.  Use a 14mm socket to hold the bolt on the secondary if needed to help remove the 36mm nut. I didn't need to hold this bolt during disassembly but upon reassembly I held this nut in order to get the top drive sprocket nut tight.

16.  I'm removing the washer and small top reverse gear. There is a little spring behind the gear that you need to keep an eye on.

17.  Use a 14mm socket and remove the bolt that holds the outer reverse gear against the bottom drive sprocket. Take note on how the back side of the reverse gear matches up with the front side of the drive sprocket upon removal.

20.  Chaincase is ready to be reinstalled with my new 23 tooth top gear. Time to reassemble everything.

21.  When you install your chaincase cover make sure that the two brass looking shift forks on the backside of the cover fit into the groove of the bottom gear where the screwdriver is located.

22.  I chose Mobile 1 Synthetic lube. I started out with 8 1/2 oz. in the ratio cup.

23.  My chaincase took 7 1/2 oz. of lube. Use a deep funnel and pour the lube slowly to help prevent a air pocket. Reinstall all the panels when you have your oil level correct.
